Why not a removable denture?

Dentures do not have a good reputation. They hinder normal functioning, and their users complain that removable prosthetic restorations interfere with speaking, eating, laughing and even sleeping. The fear that dentures will fall out at the least expected moment can even lead to withdrawal from active social life.

 

Sinking dentures, as the name suggests, rest on the alveolar process, thus degrading the bone substrate. They lead to bone loss, especially in the lower jaw. This affects the patient’s profile, who after several years of wearing dentures may look much older than their actual age.

 

The so-called Baba Yaga profile is the result of prosthetic shortening of the lower face. In addition, ill-fitting dentures damage the soft tissues in the mouth, causing severe inflammation for patients and posing a risk of precancerous conditions.

  • during the first visit, we perform a full digital diagnosis using computed tomography and digital scanning,
  • then you think that nothing is happening, but that is when we devote the most time and engage the best design team (see above),
  • during the second visit, we precisely implant the designed number of implants and install temporary bonding bridges (reinforced with a titanium bar), ensuring safe and predictable healing of the implants after the procedure,
  • after the integration period of the implants, we replace the temporary bridges with the final ceramic bridges.

Yes. In many cases, we insert implants and fit temporary bridges on the same day. Sometimes we recommend restoration a day later – after the anaesthetic has worn off – to adjust your bite even more precisely and ensure maximum safety.

No. The entire procedure is planned digitally and performed under local anaesthesia. Most people compare the comfort to root canal treatment, and the procedure itself often takes less time than you might expect. After the procedure, we provide you with full care and support during the healing process.
